Busan is Koreans’ favorite destination for summer holidays. Summer holidays in the Republic of Korea usually start from the end of July to middle of August. We, therefore propose 3rd and 4th week for the IAUGA 2021 to avoid the peak holiday season. The proposed period would be the best time of the year to enjoy swimming at Haeundae Beach and hiking at historical sites.
Busan, Korea’s second largest city and world's 5th busiest port, is an ineffable world-class city where contemporary lifestyle meets long-standing history and home to 3.5 million residents. Multilingual signage, end-to-end public transportation system, iconic skyscrapers, and ICT (Information and Communications Technologies)-based systems and eco-friendly technologies used throughout the city to make Busan a comprehensive and convenient city. BEXCO, one of the premier conference and exhibition venues in the Republic of Korea along with other special venues, offers versatile meeting rooms, modern amenities, and exquisite in-house catering service. Contemporary and comfortable accommodations are ready to be occupied by the IAUGA 2021 participants available from top-notch hotels to budget accommodations including university dormitories, youth hostels, and serviced apartments. Special accommodations including Korean traditional house (Hanok) and airbnb properties would also offer unforgettable memories to cherish for life.
Busan has a little taste of home, no matter where you are from. From European to African and Arabic to Asian, international cuisines with Korean traditional and modern gastronomy, all participants regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion shall be satisfied with a full stomach, all available at a low and affordable price range.
Activities and Experiences
The inimitability of Busan is not in the memoirs of its time but in the ways in which history is associated with the perception of modernity. The interrelatedness of history, culture, and tradition can be witnessed in many places across the town. Busan’s thriving culture and exceptional landscapes offer an abundance of experiences to inspire and amaze. If you are looking for an exhilarating adventure in mountainous coasts, relaxing and serene moments in Buddhist temples, exciting shopping time in traditional markets, and world’s celebrated shops, awakening time in museums and galleries or an amusing opportunity to become a time traveler in time-honored premises, then Busan is the one and only place you want to be.
